Best way to train proficiency

I have some violet gem gear. Does it matter if my weapon are low level or 120?
Should I just tg, or any faster ways out there?

Help is appreciated.

Hit things for xp... lvl of weapon is only important if the weapon does more damage. Color matters since it affects %... black name monsters will give more weapon xp for the same damage. You get far less for green name, but if you can do enough damage more it can make up for it.

TG is easy and steady but slow.

Remember to use the weapon you're trying to level... using a bow with elemental arrows doesn't get you any bow skill.

Just hit the highest level monsters you can, with your strongest gear. I was remember looking for keys at fg3 and was there for a while.. long while(about 45minutes gathering keys) and before I new it my katana prof raised about 10-12percent(had it around level 14 or 15 at the time).

Use as much violet gem gears as you can, and TG with nightdevil/fish, for best result make sure you 1 hit the stake (hitting 10k).

I've fixed sword and blade prof before.

General tips for the lv 130+ training weapon profs past lv 15.

Proven techniques
- Unless you got a lot a free time, TG is the best method as you get more hits per second than training manually.
- Get a attack speed boost e.g. Cyclone, NightDevil, WaterElf
- Pick a stake which you just one hit KO >10K
- Get as many violet gems as possible
- Equip the weapon you want to train fastest in you left (second) weapon slot (if possible)
- If both weapons same type, maximise damage by putting the better one in the right hand
-If possible, avoid having passive weapon skills

Unproven techniques, but I think they help:
- Use helper characters to give stig and tyrant aura, move up to slightly higher lv stakes
- Use dragon souls
- Use refineries (critical strike)

I have fixed club, sword, dagger, scepter and blade

As a very rough guide when I was fixing clubs with fixed rage with Lv4 hammer DSed lv 120 super club +6 2SVG and a normal club lv 115 2RVG with 6SVG gears for a total of 900% wep prof exp, you can expect the following

Lv 18-19 Slightly over a week
Lv 19-20 Slightly less that 10pct over 24 hours including server maintenance, ETC 11-12 days

Currently with no socket super +0 lv 120 weapons and 600% wep profs on a hammer (right hand) axe left hand, fixed boom/earthquake ETC times are as follows: (Estimated from 3 30second samples)

Lv 14-15 Hammer 33 1/3 hours
Lv 14-15 Axe 16 2/6 hours (roughly twice as fast)

Have fun fixing!

Mostly you want to one-hit stuff for the best results.

Archers are a bit different thanks to lag... two hit might be best, but Archers level nicely outside of TG since its a ranged attack and you don't have to jump between targets. Naturally scatter does squat towards bow prof. >_<

Whatever, as much violet % as you can cram but remember its attack-based so trading off the 130 super +7 sdg/sdg pole to use a ref lvl 50 rvg pole is stupid.

I have a lvl 90 refined blade 2 soc SVG/SFG and a lvl 50 normal +1 2 soc RVG/RVG axe,I want to train blade prof. Will the axe affect weapon prof if it's in the left hand?Or should I use the 2 soc blade and another super blade for more atk?

If you want to train blade prof. only then its best what ever combination you do to put the blade in your left hand as this tends to give twice the experience than that of the right hand, although with such a difference in levels, depending on other equips which effect your damage, using blade in your right hand may be more efficient (although I doubt it).

However the best solution is to go double blade as both hands will give exp and you won't get the interference of Earthquake from your axe if you've learnt it.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I also noticed that critical hits do not give any prof exp, can anyone confirm this?

If I'm right, leveling martial artist, using a weapon with a dragonsoul or getting into a monks team is a BAD idea if you plan on leveling prof.

Reincarnating and leveling prof at a low charecter level might be a good idea if, for example, you're leveling sword prof after you fixed nix. Reincarnating will mean lower skill level and a lower passive skill activation rate. However, this is only true if you can one hit stakes at low levels.

As for the level requirements, I'm pretty sure I could level my club prof past level 12 while I was around level 70 on a tro, but I'd have to check this again once I reincarnate.

Since reading your post I've been watching one of my monks in the TG training his wand proficiency. Critical strike doesn't seem to stop his weapon proficiency levelling on those occasions when it kicks in, so far as I can tell. I'm not 100% certain, though.

There used to be level requirements for levelling weapon proficiency, but they were stopped quite a long time ago. Now you can get your proficiency as high as you like without worrying about your character level.

You're right, it does give prof exp, tested it just now. Fairly sure I remember that not being the case a few weeks back, maybe TQ fixed a bug , or maybe I was just seeing things. :P

Crits do give weapon prof, that's why sometime I use a Wat-War-Monk to give me Criticals and Stig when I'm training weapons with low damage e.g. Others, Boxing or Pickaxe
