Do unlocked steeds have a possibility of dropping when red/black named?
Like the title says, when you are red or black named, and wearing an unlocked steed, is it possible for your steed to drop when killed?
Likewise, if it IS locked, can it get detained?

Yes, it will drop
I know because I've killed rednames and have gotten them, and i dropped a few of my own too. just normal ones though ^^

Test it yourself, dont trust TQ or any of their moderators.
They will tell you one thing, but in game it will say different and on the official site it well tell you something completely different, and they will spam this fact at you when you're trying to file a report for your shit back. Obviously this isnt the case for everything in CO, just seems to happen when CO release something new.. Yeah I know, theyre just that cheap (even at Xmas)
